Barrabas-1972 Spain





Barrabás are a Spanish musical group, most successful in the 1970s and 1980s when they were led by drummer and producer Fernando Arbex. The group's musical style was initially Latin rock with jazz and funk influences, and later developed into a more disco-orientated sound.
Wild Safari is a 1971 album by the Spanish group Barrabás, released outside Spain in January 1972. The album was released in some countries under the simple title Barrabás, with a different sleeve design. It was also known as Música Caliente after its subtitle on the back sleeve.
The tracks "Woman" and "Wild Safari" were released as singles in various countries, and "Woman" became a club hit in Europe, Canada and the USA. (wiki) I chose those two songs from their first album. Enjoy!!!

Dakis ‎– 100% -1975 Greece




Dakis (Vrasidas Charalambidis) is a greek pop singer born in 1943 in Egypt.In 1963 he came to Greece and almost a year later he started singing in amusement and entertainment venues and recorded in 1965 his first single with the Play Boys  entitled "I'll Shake The Earth/ Deep In The Heart Of Athens" followed by albums that were immediately successful in French, Italian and English.
"100%" released in 1975 by Minos (MSM 234)."The cover of the album  looks like Rare Earth ‎"Rare Earth In Concert " from 1971".
From this album i chose "An Thelis (Αν Θέλεις),"Gaston", "I Mama (Η Μαμά),"Kouei Mei (Κουέι Μέι)"  and "Koritsi Mou Agnwsto (Κορίτσι Μου Άγνωστο). (by request) Enjoy!!!

Psych Out- 1968 US OST





Psych-Out is a 1968 counterculture-era psychedelic film about hippies, psychedelic music, and recreational drugs, produced and released by American International Pictures. (wiki)
The soundtrack of "Psych-Out" released in 1968 by Sidewalk (ST-5913).I chose "Two Fingers Pointing On You" by The Seeds, "The World's On Fire" by The Strawberry Alarm Clock and "Ashbury Wednesday" by Boenzee Cryque. Enjoy!!!

The Fool-1968 Holland






The Fool were a Dutch design collective and band in the psychedelic style of art in British popular music in the late 1960s. The group was named in reference to the Fool tarot card.
The original members were Dutch artists Simon (Seemon) Posthuma and Marijke Koger, who were discovered by photographer Karl Ferris among the hippie community on the Spanish island of Ibiza in 1966. He took photographs of clothes they designed, and sent them to London where they were published in The Times. Ferris took The Fool back to London, and together they opened a studio, with the Dutch artists producing clothes and art, and Ferris pursuing photography. Barry Finch and artist Josje Leeger joined later.

Their work includes:

the colourful clothes worn by the Hollies on the cover of their 1967 album Evolution
stage costumes and the front cover design for the self-titled 1967 debut LP Move by the Move
stage costumes for Procol Harum
the cover of the Incredible String Band's 1967 LP The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion
stage costumes and decoration to instruments used by Cream, including Eric Clapton's famed Gibson SG guitar named also The Fool, Jack Bruce's Fender Bass VI bass, and Ginger Baker's drum kit, created for the group's 1967 tour of the US.

The Fool's best known artworks are those they created for the Beatles in 1966–67.

After moving to Los Angeles, the Fool created the largest mural in the world at the time (1968) on the exterior of the Aquarius Theatre for a production of the Broadway musical Hair, by invitation of producer Michael Butler. Simon and Marijke went on to paint other theaters where Hair was playing, in San Francisco, Seattle and Chicago. Thereafter, The Fool split up, Simon, Barry and Yosha eventually going back to Amsterdam while Marijke remained in Los Angeles to continue her artistic endeavors.(wiki)
The Fool also released an eponymous album The Fool in 1968, in the psychedelic folk style, produced by Graham Nash. From this album i chose "Fly", "No One Will Ever Know" and "Reincarnation". Enjoy!!!

Canarios - Liberate!-1970 Spain




Spanish progressive-rock band from the 70's, led by Teddy Bautista since 1964. They dared to arrange a version of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" on their album "Ciclos" (1974). Their more pop oriented songs had a big success, as "Get on your knees". On 1972 there was a different turn on their music. Drummer and lead guitar were replaced by Alan Richard and Salvador Domínguez. They released live "Canarios vivos", but soon after that Teddy split the band and reformed it with new musicians. The older ones founded "Alcatraz", and Teddy with Alan, plus brothers Jess and James Lamn, recorded "Ciclos".(discogs)
Their second album "Libérate!" released in 1970 on Barclay label (920282). From this album i chose "Free Yourself" and "You're My Sunshine". Enjoy!!!

Jess & James-1969 Belgium




Jess & James was a Belgian soul duo that their backing band, the JJ Band, was especially popular in the late 60s .
Jess & James were the stage names of the Portuguese brothers Fernando and Antonio Lameirinhas. Fernando and Antonio  was born in Portugal. From childhood  was fascinated by music, but because of dictatorship of Salazar in Portugal, there was no money for music lessons. That changed when the Lameirinhos family moved to Belgium. Fernando went into a marble company works and bought with the money that he earned a guitar , with which he could go to the academy. Antonio learned under the influence of his brother's, bass .(wiki)
As Jess & James they release three albums between 1968-69.From their third self-titled album who released in 1969 on Palette ‎(MPB S-3290), i chose "Straight Man" and "James Stuff". Enjoy!!!

The Outlaw Blues Band-1968 US







The Outlaw Blues Band was a jazz/blues band formed in Los Angeles CA in the early 1960s.They released two albums, a self-titled in 1968 and "Breaking In" in 1969.From their first album, who released by Bluesway Records (BLS-6021), i chose  "Tobacco Road" and "I've Got To Have Peace On My Mind". Enjoy!!!

Warm Dust-And It Came To Pass-1970 UK






Warm Dust were a British progressive jazz rock band of the early 1970s. Although a relatively obscure group, they featured Paul Carrack and Terry "Tex" Comer, who later formed Ace.(wiki)
Their first album titled "And It Came To Pass", released in 1970 by Trend label (TNLS-700).From this album i chose "Loosing Touch" and their great version of Richie Havens song "Indian Rope Man".
