La Revolucion de Emiliano Zapata-1971 Mexico



La Revolucion de Emiliano Zapata is a Mexican rock band that broke sales records in Europe and Mexico with their hit song "Nasty Sex" at the height of the counterculture era of the early 1970s.
Breaking ties with their original concept as the hippie era waned worldwide by the mid-1970s, they continued actively interpreting romantic ballads with considerable success. In 2009, they returned as a rock act.(wiki)
From their first s/t album from 1971 i chose the instrumental guitar fuzzy song "Ciudad Perdida". Enjoy!!!

Johnny Harris- Movements- 1970 UK




Johnny Harris (born John Stanley Livingstone Harris in 1932) is a Scottish-born composer, producer, arranger, conductor and musical director. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music in London. He has lived in the US since 1972.(wiki)
From his 1970 album titled "Movements" (Warner Bros Records), i chose the cover version of Lennon–McCartney song  "Give Peace A Chance".

Mephistopheles - In Frustration I Hear Singing -1969 US



Mephistopheles was a American psychedelic rock band who release just one album on Reprise Records (RS 6355). Taking its name from 16th century Faustian legend (Mephistopheles was the devil to whom Faust sold his soul) this six-piece outfit emerged from the psychedelic underground and recorded this now rare album, titled "In Frustration I Hear Singing".
I chose the Zappa style song "Dead Ringer". Enjoy!!!

Terry Knight And The Pack-1966 US



Terry Knight and the Pack (earlier known as the Pack) was an American garage rock band formed in Flint, Michigan in 1965. The band was signed to the Lucky Eleven label throughout most of its short recording career, and they produced one national hit with their cover version of the song, "I (Who Have Nothing)". Despite their inability to replicate their success, the band was still a frequent attraction in the Michigan rock scene. The Pack was fronted by singer, Terry Knight. In 1967, the group disbanded, but two of the members of the band, drummer/vocalist Don Brewer and guitarist Mark Farner, would later go on to form another band, Grand Funk Railroad.(wiki)

The Baroques -1967 US



The Baroques were an American psychedelic rock band formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1966. The band reached regional success for their transition from garage rock to the psychedelic rock genre, and the controversary aroused from their single, "Mary Jane". The band released one studio album before its disbandment in 1968.(wiki)

Willie And The Red Rubber Band-1968 US




Willie And The Red Rubber Band was a psychedelic rock band formed in Shreveport, TX.The members were: Willie Redden (vocals, guitar), Glen Ballard (bass), Charles Addington (keyboards, piano, cello), Conley Bradford (drums) and Lanny Fiel (guitar).
The band  release two albums in RCA Victor. The first s/t in 1968 (LSP-4074) and their second titled "We're Comin' Up" (LSP-4193) in 1969.From the first album i chose the psychedelic "Mary Jane".

Trio Mocotó is a Brazilian band, originally formed in 1968 in the Jogral nightclub in São Paulo, and

Titanic -Sultana -1970 Norway



Titanic is a rock band from Norway, which also included a British member in its line-up. It was first active from 1969 to 1979, and also reformed twice.The group was made up of Kenny Aas, Kjell Asperud, John Lorck, Janne Loseth, Roy Robinson (lead singer) and for a short time around their chart success, John Williamson. They formed in 1969 (Norway), and released several successful albums and singles before disbanding in 1979.(wiki)

San Ul Lim-1977 Korea



San Ul Lim was a great Korean rock trio, active from 1977 to 2008, consisting of three brothers Kim Chang-wan (voc., g., 1954-), Kim Chang-hoon (b., g., 1956-) and Kim Chang-ik (dr., 1958-2008). Their music ranged from psychedelic moods to hard rock and pop with innovative elements.(wiki)

East Of Eden-Jig-A-Jig- 1970 UK single


East of Eden was a British progressive rock band, who had a Top 10 hit in the UK with the single, "Jig-a-Jig", in 1971.The track was stylistically unlike any of their other work . Although some might consider this group as being a symphonic progressive band, others state that their style is mostly jazz oriented. Combining flutes, violins and tape loops to folk, gypsy and psychedelic music, the East of Eden style was always heavily supported on a pure rock base strong and experimental.(wiki)

Cold Blood -1969 US



Cold Blood is a long-standing soul-rock-jazz band founded by Larry Field in 1968 and originally based in the San Francisco East Bay area. They have also performed and recorded under the name "Lydia Pense and Cold Blood", due to the popularity of their lead singer, Lydia Pense.(wiki)
Their first self-titled album released in 1969 by San Francisco Records (SD 200).Their version of Barbara Lynn's song "I'm A Good Woman" is excellent (El Chicano's version is also great, i will post it soon). Enjoy!!!

Jimmy Castor Bunch-Tribute To Jimi-Purple Haze-Foxey Lady-1973 US single


James Walter "Jimmy" Castor (June 23, 1940 – January 16, 2012) was an American pop and funk musician. He is best known as a fun disco/funk saxophonist, with his biggest hit single being 1972's million seller, "Troglodyte (Cave Man)".
On this 1973 single Jimmy Castor make a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, with his "Purple Haze-Foxey Lady" version. Enjoy!!!

Ezra And The Polka Dots- Dance, Sing and Swing -1969 Bahamas



Ezra was a guitar player from Bahamas.This rare album with the Polka Dots was released on Singca label (LP 103) in 1969.On this album has mostly play covers in a very unique style, like "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps", "Eleanor Rigby", "Shapes Of Things To Come" and "California Dreaming" among others.
I chose  the version of  "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps"  from  Ezra And The Polka Dots. Enjoy and a happy new year!!!
