Sapo-1974 US

Sapo was an early 1970’s San Francisco-based Latin-rock band now considered one of the seminal and influential bands from the period. The band originally had ten pieces including congas, timbales, drums, two guitars and a four piece horn section.
Sapo was formed just as Malo’s song “Suavecito” hit the national top ten charts. Richard Bean, the singer and co-writer of the song, left Malo and formed Sapo with his brother horn player Joe Bean. Richard wrote Sapo’s songs and was the lead singer and timbale player. The band rehearsed four hours a day, five or six days a week in a large garage on South Van Ness Ave. in SF’s Mission District. They soon landed a national record deal on Bell Records (BELL- 1301).From this great Latin-rock album i chose three songs, "Been Had", "Ritmo Del Corazon" and "Wishbone".

Eyes Of Blue-Crossroads Of Time- 1968 UK

The Eyes of Blue's debut album is a rather typical bottom-drawer late-'60s psychedelic effort, going over much of the musical map without charting new territory or doing especially interesting songs.
Chunks of British harmony pop, soul, trendy Eastern-tinged psychedelia, and early progressive classical-dipped melodies and arrangements all bump around in the mix, though they don't cohere too memorably. The Welsh group did have a more organ-based sound than many of their U.K. peers, and the band's keyboardist, Phil Ryan, has admitted that Graham Bond was a big influence on his style on this album.
Bond's input wasn't limited to this, he also wrote two of the songs, "Crossroads Of Time" and "Love Is The Law" (though they were credited to "D. Stewart," aka his girlfriend, Diane Stewart), both of which Bond himself would record slightly later on his 1969 album "Love Is The Law". (allmusic)
The "Crossroads Of Time" released in US by Mercury records (SR-61184). From this album i chose "Crossroads Of Time" and "Love Is The Law".

The Spirit Of Atlanta-The Burning Of Atlanta -1973 US

While essentially a vanity project for composer/producer/arranger Thomas Stewart, backed here by a cadre of "Hot 'Lanta" session players, The Burning of Atlanta is nevertheless an excellent funk LP that boasts the panoramic scope of a classic blaxploitation soundtrack.
With the vocals embedded deep in the mix, the emphasis lies squarely on the record's intensely hypnotic grooves, most of the tracks extend past the five-minute mark, with the epic "Messin' Around" clocking in at nearly twice that total. Stewart's dramatic melodies also boast a sheen recalling Curtis Mayfield's classic "Superfly" and just in case you couldn't place the reference, there's even an answer song: "Freddie's Alive and Well."(allmusic)
"The Burning Of Atlanta" released in 1973 by Buddah Records (BDS 5135 ST).Two songs from this album, "Messin' Around" and "Freddie's Alive and Well." Enjoy!!!

Food-Forever Is A Dream -1969 US

While Food's only album is fairly wide-ranging in its exploration of various modes of lighter, more pop-oriented psychedelic album rock, it's an ordinary record of its kind. It's not so much what's wrong with the album that holds it back, but rather what it lacks in truly strong songs or original takes on the sound of its times. Certainly it's a record of its time, as you can tell from the fluttering distorted violin-ish guitar sustains, insertions of British psych-influenced horn fanfares, tempo changes, occasional probing vaguely trippy lyrics, uptempo soul-rock numbers, high piercing organ, and other such accoutrements.(allmusic)
From this great album i chose "Forever Is A Dream" and "Here We Go Again".
